How it works
St John's is registered with the Parish Giving Scheme which allows you to give to St John's securely and safely online. Using the QR Code or link below please click 'Regular Giving' to set up a monthly, quarterly, or annual Direct Debit or ‘One-Off Gift’ to make a single gift using your Debit, Credit Card or Apple/Google Pay wallet.
Givers can set up a Direct Debit with PGS online, over the phone or by filling in a gift form at church. This can be made on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Each gift is restricted to St John's and cannot be used elsewhere. The gift will be passed back to St John's by 10th of the month. Any eligible Gift Aid will be sent separately once it has been received from HMRC.
A unique feature of the scheme is the option for the giver to commit in principle to increase their gift annually in line with inflation. This is entirely at the giver's discretion on an opt-in basis, but it is proving popular - with more than 55% of the cash received currently index-linked.
- The PGS collects your gift on the 1st working day of the month, and this regular giving will enable us to budget more effectively and plan our expenditure to sustain and grow our mission and ministry.
- Gifts are collected and then paid as a single payment direct to our bank account within a few days. This reduces the administrative burden for our Treasurer.
- PGS will automatically claim any gift aid associated with your gift each month. This greatly reduces the amount of work needed to make Gift Aid claims and ensures that the extra 25% of aid is promptly made available to the church each month.
- Giving through PGS can also help protect the church from rising costs with an option to increase your gift in line with inflation each year.
- The church receives 100% of your gift and gift aid as the cost the administer this scheme is covered by the Diocese.
